TAMUCC's Instructional Design & Educational Technology (IDET) program offers a Texas Virtual School Network (TXVSN) professional development for all Texas-certified teachers desiring to design and teach courses online in the TxVSN network of course offerings for all public and charter schools in Texas. More information about the TXVSN professional development offering can be found under the IDET masters program links.
Texas Education Agency (TEA) has announced key partnerships to implement critical functions of the Texas Virtual School Network (TXVSN), including professional development for teaching online. Prior to teaching courses offered via the TXVSN, instructors are required to take TXVSN-approved professional development that specifically focuses on learning to teach effectively in the online environment. The Instructional Technology and Educational Design (IDET) Master of Science program at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi is an approved Texas Virtual School Network (TXVSN) provider of professional development for teachers who are new to online instruction.
Students seeking a master's degree in Instructional Design and Educational Technology (IDET) will submit a full graduate student application and process according to the Office of Graduate Studies.
Information about course offerings, professional development, and participation in the TXVSN is available online at http://www.txvsn.org. Questions about the TXVSN should be sent to the TXVSN central operations at TXVSNCentral@txvsn.org or call 1-866-93-TXVSN (1-866-938-9876).
